Jimena is an illustrator from Mexico City, illustrating text books, graphic novels and fiction books. Her clients include Stone Arch Books, Cappelen Damn, Edelvives, Edebé, Editorial Norma, Macmillan, Pearson, Televisa, and Domestika. She’s been teaching almost as long as she has been working. She’s especially proud of the illustration courses she developed for Domestika - an online learning platform.
At age 10 she found herself attending her grandmother’s oil painting class, where she developed a love for painting. She graduated from the National Autonomous University of Mexico with a degree in Visual Communication and a post-graduate certificate in Children’s Illustration from EINA Barcelona.
At the moment, she is enjoying working in Procreate and Photoshop as well as painting with acrylics, but Jimena’s curious nature means she is willing to try any medium or software once.
Jimena strives to make people smile with her artwork. She loves adventures with relatable characters that don’t take themselves too seriously. In her free time Jimena likes to explore the city looking for inspiration. You can mostly find her at the park with her dog and her sketchbook, or on her couch with a fantasy book or a scary video game.
